Insurance
Comprehensive UK and European self-drive insurance is included with every hire, covering up to two drivers who meet our usual criteria (aged 25–75 with at least 2 years’ driving experience). If you’re outside this range, we can often still arrange cover — it just means the security deposit may be a little higher.
Deposit
Before you set off, we place a £1,000 security hold on your card (3 days before your trip). Think of it as a safety bond for your Defender. Don’t worry — it’s not a charge, and it’s released as soon as your adventure ends and the vehicle’s back in good order.
Collection or Delivery?
For our regional, national and international guests we are pleased to offer collection or delivery from a variety of locations. Driving to Overland Adventures UK? — feel free to leave your car with us. Flying or Cruising into the UK or taking the Train? — add on your delivery needs at checkout — choose from Morpeth Train Station, North Shields Ferry Terminal or Newcastle & Edinburgh Airports.
